A tradition of innovation

Director Theodore Aarons founded Protein Research in 1968 to offer contract safety and quality testing to the food and cosmetics industries. By 1975 the company had evolved, with a focus on developing the underlying technology for the world's first low-cost protein hydrolysates for human nutrition. Later, the organization did consulting and formulation for established nutritional companies that are now among the leaders in the rapidly emerging nutraceutical sector.

Recognizing the significant shortage of high-quality, scientifically sophisticated nutritional supplement manufacturing capacity, Protein Research set out to help fill that need in 1983. The company focused exclusively on private label manufacturing of ethical, high-quality supplements and nutraceutials, serving a broad range of markets.

Over the years, Protein Research has been a frontrunner in developing products for the nutritional industry. Milestones in our product development work include:

• A patent for instatizing protein powder using lecithin
• Technology development to hydrolyze protein to maximize amino acid efficiency
• Development assistance for today's top-selling energy bar
• Developed one of the first joint formulas containing chondrition sulfate and glucosime HCI--the most popular combination today in the category
• Worked with FDA attorneys to release DHEA and related products to the health and body building industries.
