Quality is the way we do business

From our supplier certification process to the cleanliness of our production equipment, quality is built in to everything we do at Protein Research.

Material matters

Our vendor qualification program requires each of our suppliers to have quality programs in place. We require certificates of analysis from each supplier to verify ingredients, including flavors.

We then quarantine raw materials until samples are tested to verify our specifications.

We scan each raw material with an infrared scanner (FTIR) that provides a specific fingerprint. When we reorder, we can compare the new material to make sure it is identical to our verified standards. This is only one example of how we make sure that you and your customers get the same quality materials for each production batch we manufacture.

Double-check everything

All records stay with the batches. From the time the formula is released for production, it goes through a number of steps to verify it’s the right product and quantity. When we pull raw materials, a double-signature system verifies the ingredients. Line checks verify ingredient weight, blending times, and equipment cleanliness.

Random line checks go on throughout the process—even through the packaging—right bottle, right cap, and right label. Before we ship, we check disintegration, effervesce, color, and taste. We verify lot numbers, purchase order requirements, and more.

Cleanliness continuously

Our HACCEP plans work with hazard control points to help prevent contamination at any point in the production process. They also analyze cleaning procedures and all general quality issues. We have special sanitization equipment, and do swab tests throughout the facility. Microbiological analysis provides another level of verification. An allergen program also prevents cross-contamination and we perform a full sanitation step for each batch of product we produce.
